Ever since my brilliant friends Canary Trail Events

kindly agreed to host this event I'd so been looking forward to it, but I completely underestimated everything! And most of all just how much I would LOVE IT!

Yes, I underestimated just how tough those trails would be, with plenty of narrow sections to fat shame the Rhino . After clambering up the aptly named Satan's staircase for the second time I was feeling a tad guilty for enticing so many beloved friends to take on this challenge. But as I always say, helping Save the Rhino and CTE's chosen charity, Liver Cancer Research is definitely worth all the effort.

Besides, all I saw all day long were epic smiles and the stunning beauty of the route was undeniable, as was the ever changing scenery and breathtaking views that so rewarded all the hard work.

I also completely underestimated just how ridiculously hot and humid it would be and how by the second loop the costume had begun to feel like I was trapped in a sauna! But I cannot tell you how good it felt to wade across the cold river or to make a cheeky diversion for a rescue ice cream and coke.

I underestimated how much it would hurt when 3 miles in, I had a costume malfunction and part of the metal frame broke off. For the next 10 miles I had to try and run with it prodded into my back. But when I got back to Canary HQ at the end of the loop the Canary hero volunteers flew to my aid and helped me make the suit repairs while my medic mates patched me up for round two.

And that's really the thing about last Saturdays Rhino Run. Just how far the help and kindness of others will get you!

I completely underestimated how emotional I would feel in the morning , looking across a village hall packed full of people who had travelled from all over to be there and lend their support.

Canary Trail Events gave me the most wonderful present for my upcoming 50th Birthday that I absolutely love! They touched my heart and they gave us all the most incredible day I shall never ever forget.

I cannot thank the whole CTE team enough for all they have done. They put so much hardwork into this Rhino Run to make it so special and I'm so happy that it's happening again next year! (So if you missed out this time around please make sure you join us in 2026! As you really need to experience this epic and memorable event too )

The BIGGEST Thank You ever aswell to everyone who came last Saturday. You have made a massive difference for two great causes and I couldn’t love you more.

Thank you also to everyone who couldn’t be there but sent the nicest well wishes and to everyone getting so behind all my campaigning. I said the best way I could think to celebrate this year was to do everything to help my favourite animal. You’re all making that possible and by so doing your making me the happiest 50 year old Rhino out there!
