The Slam
February to November 2026

Race 1 -
Winterfold 55
SATURDAY 7TH FEBRUARY 2026 @ 8:00am
The Winterfold 55 is a single-loop course that takes in some of Surrey's most iconic trails, including sections of the North Downs Way and the Greensand Way. The race starts from Mickelham Village Hall and takes in Reigate Hill before looping round and heading out towards Leith Hill and Winterfold Woods, then heading up to the North Downs Way and Box Hill to complete the loop. The route and elevation already make this a tough event, but combining the unpredictable Winter weather with short daylight hours makes it an exceedingly challenging race.
Full details on the course, cut-offs, and GPX download are on the race page.

Race 2 - Surrey HIlls Marathon
SATURDAY 21st MARCH 2026 @ 9:00am
Starting at 9am at Powell Corderoy School in Dorking, the route takes in 4,000ft of ascent including the fabulous Pitch Hill, Holmbury Hill and Leith Hill whilst traversing some of the very best trails in the country before returning to the finish at the school. With an 8 hour cut off and three generously stocked aid stations, this single loop fully marked course is an ideal race for those who want to race hard, are making the transition from road marathons to trail events or for those trying their very first trail marathon.
Full details on the course, cut-offs, and GPX download are on the race page.

Race 3 - Two Towers
SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2026 @ 20:00am
With a generous cut-off of nine hours, the Two Towers 50km race is a fully marked single loop course with three well stocked checkpoints and has been designed to not only appeal to the experienced racer who wants to race it hard, but also for the first time ultra runners who want to experience a night race with a headtorch.
Full details on the course, cut-offs, and GPX download are on the race page.

Race 4 - The Copthorne Races
SATURDAY 21st NOVEMBER 2026 @ 08:00am
Modelled on the infamous Caesars Camp races, The Copthorne Races take place in Surrey, featuring a wide mix of terrain, woodland and contouring in and around the Box Hill, Mickleham and Headley areas. Indeed, the race name is a play on words as Headley was part of the Copthorne Hundred, an administrative division devised by the Saxons.
The races start at Mickleham Village Hall (Race HQ) with a route of just over ten-mile loops (therefore the 50k consists of 3 loops), providing a cumulative of ascent gained of approximately 2,260 feet per loop. The route will be fully marked on the day with signs & tape. GPX files available to all entrants.
Full details on the course, cut-offs, and GPX download are on the race page.

It was the idea of our Co_Founder, Mark Thornberry. It’s a bit of fun that makes our races a little different. Your canary can be as simple as a printed picture of Tweety-Pie pinned to your race pack, or a giant inflatable. They all count. If you choose not to and incur a fine - it all goes to the Kings College Hospital Liver Cancer Charity in Mark’s memory.
Why Carry a Canary?
