16-Hour Outdoor First Aid Course for Remote, Wilderness & Outdoor Enthusiasts.

When you're outdoors, help isn’t always five minutes away. This nationally recognised course is built for those out in remote, rural, and wilderness settings, where you're likely to be caring for a casualty for longer than in typical urban incidents.

Whether you're leading a mountain group, coaching in the forest, or just heading off-grid, this is the course that will give you the skills and confidence to manage emergencies in the field.

This 16-hour course consists of 2 units:

Unit 1 - Outdoor Emergency Action

Unit 2 - Outdoor Incident Management

This course is non refundable but you have the option to transfer it to another person if you cannot make it on the day. This option is valid up until the 10th October

Qualification Overview

  • Award: ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid

  • Duration: 16 contact hours (delivered over 2 days)

  • Assessment: 100% practical, via continuous tutor observation

  • Certification: Valid for 3 years

  • Pre-requisites: No prior first aid experience required

  • There are no written exams — just practical, hands-on training with real-time feedback and scenario-based learning. You’ll be assessed continuously throughout the course as you demonstrate the skills and decision-making needed to be an effective first aider outdoors.

Who should attend

This course is recognised throughout the UK and is the course of choice for experienced practitioners who use the outdoors.  It is suitable for workers in rural and remote settings and will maintain the license to practice for those with Outdoor National Governing Body Instructor awards.

What you'll need

You will need to bring the following:

Formal Identification: Driving Licence, Passport etc.
Make sure you wear/bring suitable clothing for an afternoon in the Surrey Hills.
Notepad & pen for taking notes.
